The Legend of 4C BBQ
Long ago, back in the late 1900’s, there was a Texas sheriff’s deputy named Robin “Delicious” Ford who knew his guys needed some stress relief, so he threw a party for the families and cooked up some mighty fine brisket. As these parties grew, he bought a 5’x18” barbecue pit they dubbed the “Texas Ranger.” When Robin & Teresa hoofed on up to Colorado with their best friends to visit Bar D Chuckwagon, the four dreamed of opening their own 4C chuckwagon in Texas. That’s when the 4C brand was birthed.
In 1999, God led the Fords to load the wagon and head north to help out family. There they bought a convenience store and deli and kept on cooking. After serving 170 lbs. of Texas barbecue in less than 4 hours at a local festival, 4C BBQ was born. Robin & Teresa took their chuckwagon on the road to local fairs, festivals, rodeos and bull ridings and soon grew into a full-blown catering business.
Once again in 2005, the Lord led the Fords to pack up the wagon and relocate to the Panhandle of Florida. 4C BBQ found its home as a 32-seat restaurant in Ponce de Leon for 5 years, then “grew up” and moved to DeFuniak Springs in 2012 with a 200-seat restaurant, full bar and entertainment. In 2015, Robin and Teresa decided it was time to give back & partnered with Healing Tools for Warriors to help our local heroes with PTSD and TBI. Four years later they expanded once again and opened Heroes Sports Bar next door as an extension of the restaurant.
4C BBQ has some exciting new changes in the works, leading to yet another season in their story. Great things are coming so stay tuned!
Through the years God has blessed this family with many new customers who have become part of the 4C Family.
On behalf of all our staff and crew, we say Thank You…
